Well, that depends how you look at it and what features you’re looking for. Most “similar” products are designed for one purpose only, sacrificing either sound quality, aesthetics, or functionality. We believe there is nothing out there like Audiocase that combines sound quality, aesthetics, or functionality into one – at least at this price point. Most likely the answer is yes! Both AUDIOCASE speakers connect via Bluetooth, AUX 1/8” jack, XLR, or 1/4” jack – and outputs/links to other speakers or PA systems using 1/4" jack. Please see the bottom of our main page for technical specifications and overview of control panel interface.

Looks and sound quality are the main differences. Design is of course a matter of taste, but the objective with Audiocase was to design a great looking speaker – something you’d want put on display at home, even when you’re not using it. The Bose S1 Pro is your standard black box PA speaker, which most people probably wouldn’t use as their home audio system. But apart from that, they’re similar in functionality. In terms of sound quality, we found that although the Bose plays quite loud it sounds harsh at max volume and the overall sound is boomy, uncontrolled, and processed. At Audiocase we have invested a lot in making our products sound great. Our experience is that the Bose S1 Pro is more a PA speaker than a hi-fi speaker.

Looks, functionality, sound quality, and price are the main differences. We think Soundboks make good speakers, and we have used them as a reference in our development. In terms of specs they’re similar, but we have focused more on sound quality and aesthetics, as well as the functionality of connecting multiple inputs with a 3 channel mixer and reverb control. On the other hand SB3 and has the option to connect multiple speakers wirelessly, with app support – Audiocase does this manually using wired link cables. Lastly, and this is obviously going to be a little biased, but think we offer a more stylish and elegant design. Soundboks has “rough” look, which some people like and some people don’t.

FRFR (Full Range Flat Response) is a guitar amp term which doesn't really apply here since AUDIOCASE is more than a guitar amp – it's also a portable hi-fi speaker – and a PA system. However, it's pretty much full range and has a fairly flat response, but there are EQ and other DSP filters applied to tune the sound for optimal sound quality. The jack input with toggle switch set on instrument/guitar is the same EQ as the Bluetooth and AUX input. So a modelling amp would work well with this, which is usually what people want to know when they ask about FRFR.

Audiocase is definitely made for outdoor use. Our speakers are very sturdy and well built. They are somewhat water resistant with its laminated enclosure and metal frame that covers the control panels. The speakers will sustain small splashes and dust fairly well, but they’s not waterproof and should not be left out in rain.
